Ok. So the hottest gossip of this week is Zoe Tay’s ad for Imedeen where she swallows.

For the record, I understand that the ad really means swallowing of a pill.
The New Paper put her on the headlines yesterday (26 Aug 2006) and made Singaporeans look really prehistoric in thinking. Apparently this campaign came from the minds of 2 british women. Ok, so it’s just not a very appropriate ad for Singapore.
I thought Zoe Tay was probably the only local celebrity to pull off such an ad though. Happily married to a an RSAF pilot with a boy called Brayden, just can’t get over the idea of calling your child by a name that was probably a spin-off from a donkey’s call.
But for the fun of it, I decided to do some “online research” on how true swallowing may be.
So I googled for its benefits and found quite a number of sites already listing them.
Recently studies have shown that regular consumption of semen can actually have some wonderful health benefits. Semen contains at least 13 prostaglandins and high concentrations of hormones that retain potency if taken orally. The quality of the seminal hormones is thought to be superior to even prescription versions. In the study women who regularly consumed their lovers sperm showed such benefits as a reduction in ovarian cancers, lowered depression and many even had acne symptoms lessen or stop entirely. It is thought that the oral consumption of the potent hormones had a balancing effect on woman’s hormonal ups and downs caused by their periods and pregnancy or breastfeeding.
This one’s a really close! Can even stop acne symptoms, a skin problem! No acne is a good skin condition, right?
It also says that it must be from the same source!
…only married or monogamous women showed the benefits. Those with multiple partners showed no beneficial effects or even reported detrimental effects. This is thought to be caused by the differences in the hormonal makeup of multiple partners. Also it is suspected that only women would benefit from such a regimen as that the hormonal effect would not be balancing in same sex couples.
So be faithful, and straight.
Zoe and Phillip are happily married mah! So sure got healthy sex life! Got baby Brayden to prove it some more.
CNN also reported that fellatio may reduce the risk of breast cancer by 40%.
Unfortunately, that was a hoax and was taken down from their site. However, there may be some truth about it fighting cancer, www.theage.com.au reported:
As for the link to cancer, it’s just possible that semen could have some effect on cancer of the cervix or ovaries. There’s research showing oral delivery of TGFbeta (transforming growth factor beta), one of the key molecules in semen, can increase the number and activity of “natural killer” cells that are important in recognising and killing aberrant cells that give rise to tumours.
From the same article, the act increases the chance of pregnancy and makes it safer too.
In conclusion, Zoe Tay, Queen of Caldecott, (soon to be Queen of Bukit Batok) may well be right!
Now all that’s left is for a research company to find out if Imedeen’s ad campaign improved the sales of their pills.
